Save the Earth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl

Welcome to Scrappy MAC Designs and the SEVENTH Fantabulous Cricut Crawl.....Fantabulous Cricut's version of a Blog Hop!

In honor of our Home Planet, Mother Earth, we're having a "Save the Earth" Crawl...each Design Team member will be featuring an original Upcycled-Themed Project that includes at least one Reuseable/Recycled Item along with at least ONE Cricut Cut.

If you've come from visiting Megan over at Saxey Designs, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Save the Earth" project at FCCB!  How fun is that?

For my project...I used a Jif Peanut Butter Jar that I had saved for an event such as this...to be able to reuse it for a project, like a candy jar, instead of it going to a landfill!!  All the paper that I used was from my supply of scraps that I have kept from other projects.  All the embellishments were extras that I just had sitting around or ones that I had cut or made for other projects but just didn't use them for what ever reason.  I have to say that I was pretty excited to use things that I already had that might normally had gotten discarded. :) The only thing that I bought for the project was the Snicker's candy bars that went inside, which are my dad's favorite.  He was facing some scary medical issues, which he is really good now, so I stuck to bright fun colors & spring-ish items like Butterflies to lighten the mood.  He has already asked me how the jar gets refilled. :)
Before - Recycled Jif Peanut Butter Jar

After - Recycled Jif Peanut Butter Jar with Mini Snicker's

Did someone mention prizes?!? :)  One of my lucky followers will be randomly picked to win a $20 gift card to one of my FAVORITE stores....Archiver's. Not a follower?  That's ok...you have until May 7th to become one.  I will announce the winner next week.

Now it's your turn! Let's see your Upcycled-Themed projects! Make sure to include a Cricut Cut somewhere on your project!

Your next stop...Robin's blog over at Robin's Creative Cottage.  Go see what she has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!

Happy Crawling!

Yummy BBQ

Happy Saturday!!  Hope you are having a great weekend so far!  Mine has been great so far!!  I got to spend my day today hanging out with one of my best friends scrapbooking\crafting at my place after doing a little shopping at one of our local scrapbooking\craft stores.  :)  I enjoyed today more so than our normal scrap nights, since my husband has been in Ireland visiting his family since Tuesday & will be gone for 2 weeks....so I have been a little lost & trying to keep busy so I don't think about him being gone away from me for that long. :(  She did a great job on cheering me up...we got to catch up on all the gossip, bought some new projects to add onto my craft 'To Do List' & got some projects completed.  :)

One of the projects I made today is a card for another girlfriend of mine....she is one of my oldest friends that I met more than 16 years ago & have helped each other through life's challenges together!!  She had me over for dinner & drinks last night, where she made such a great meal!!  Have to say...she is a great cook!!   My mouth is even watering now just thinking about all the 'yummy' food she made!  Grilled bbq chicken, homemade mac-n-cheese, grilled fresh veggies, spinach salad, & homemade chocolate chip cookies.  She had been teasing me about getting a homemade meal since I have been eating out since my husband has been gone...since.it has just been easier to grab something on my way home from work. I wanted to send her a personalized 'thank you' card for such a great meal & having me over to hang out!!  I am very lucky to have such great girlfriends....♥ them!!  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Many Thanks!

I ♥ Action Wobbles!! :)

The inside of the card, which I wanted to make sure that my writing was straight, so the 'notebook paper' worked perfect!
The projects that I have to share today is a card that I made for my mother-in-law.  We recently meet her & a friend of her's for dinner after we got off of work & they finished a day of shopping.  When we were walking out to our cars, she wanted to show us some of the purchases, one being a couple sets of journaling pens for me to use in my scrapbooking.  I was so touched that she would have even thought of me while she was out shopping, that I wanted to make her a personal thank you card for the pens.  I was excited to make this card for two reasons, one being that I adore her as she truly is the best 'mother' anyone could ask for when they get married & the second being that I just got my first package of Action Wobbles...I LOVE them & have a feeling that they will be a constant refilling purchase in my supply tote! :)  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

April Showers - Challenge Me Monday #107

Happy Monday!!  It is time for another Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut!! :)

#107 - April Showers - Make a project with an umbrella, rain, or clouds on it.

The project that I made & submitted for the challenge this week is a card that I am sending to my sister.  As I have mentioned before in a different post, my sister & I have always been close & even though we are seperated by distance and different time zones, we still continue to be close.  We are no different than other sisters in the sense that we had your typical fights...over clothes, taking too longer in the shared bathroom getting ready, but when it came right down too it...we always had each others back....and still do.  :)  Her and her family are planning on coming for a visit in a couple months & planning on staying with my husband and I.  It will be nice to get my baby fix from being around my nephew & niece.  :)  I wanted to send a quick little note to her to tell her how excited I am to see her & the family.

Over at My Craft Spot, the challenge is 'Make it Pop!' - use dimensionals to make some part of your card really stand out, so I am going to also submit this card as well.  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Buttons & Bows - Challenge Me Monday #106

Do you know what today is???  It is Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut!!

#106 - Buttons & Bows - Make a project with at least one button and one bow on it.

The project that I made & submitted for the challenge is a card that I made for a friend of mine to go with  her Bachelorette gift.  I got the Forever Young Cricut cartridge when I first got my Cricut and have used it a couple times, but much like everyone else...it isn't one that I tend to use all the time.  I recently saw Missy use the Lingerie cut for a card she had made for a bachelorette card as well and I made a mental note to myself that it is the perfect image for a bachelorette card!!  I have always thought that hot pink & black are great colors for such an event & the glitter paper adds just enough bling to the card.  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Recipe for this project:
- Lingerie from Forever Young Cricut Cartridge cut at 2
- Stampabilities Stamp - 'It's a Party'
- Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder
- Ribbon - Black with Pink stitching
- Studio His & Hers Black Tulle
- Pink Heart button
- iRock pearl jewel

Yummy Cupcake Birthday

Close up of the flags
The project that I have to share is a birthday card that I made for a co-worker of mine who has become a good friend. She is going to be celebrating her birthday next week while being gone on vacation, as she has always taken vacation the entire week of her birthday as she refers to it as "The Queen's Week" saying that everyone should have a vacation & not have to work the week of their birthday...a reason why we get along as I feel the same way....I have a birthday week as well but will need to start taking a Birthday Trip on mine going forward.  :)  She loves the color purple, hence why this card has so much of it, but I added some pink to it as I felt like it was too much purple....but according to her, there could have been more.  :)  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!
