Yummy BBQ

Happy Saturday!!  Hope you are having a great weekend so far!  Mine has been great so far!!  I got to spend my day today hanging out with one of my best friends scrapbooking\crafting at my place after doing a little shopping at one of our local scrapbooking\craft stores.  :)  I enjoyed today more so than our normal scrap nights, since my husband has been in Ireland visiting his family since Tuesday & will be gone for 2 weeks....so I have been a little lost & trying to keep busy so I don't think about him being gone away from me for that long. :(  She did a great job on cheering me up...we got to catch up on all the gossip, bought some new projects to add onto my craft 'To Do List' & got some projects completed.  :)

One of the projects I made today is a card for another girlfriend of mine....she is one of my oldest friends that I met more than 16 years ago & have helped each other through life's challenges together!!  She had me over for dinner & drinks last night, where she made such a great meal!!  Have to say...she is a great cook!!   My mouth is even watering now just thinking about all the 'yummy' food she made!  Grilled bbq chicken, homemade mac-n-cheese, grilled fresh veggies, spinach salad, & homemade chocolate chip cookies.  She had been teasing me about getting a homemade meal since I have been eating out since my husband has been gone...since.it has just been easier to grab something on my way home from work. I wanted to send her a personalized 'thank you' card for such a great meal & having me over to hang out!!  I am very lucky to have such great girlfriends....♥ them!!  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

April Showers - Challenge Me Monday #107

Happy Monday!!  It is time for another Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut!! :)

#107 - April Showers - Make a project with an umbrella, rain, or clouds on it.

The project that I made & submitted for the challenge this week is a card that I am sending to my sister.  As I have mentioned before in a different post, my sister & I have always been close & even though we are seperated by distance and different time zones, we still continue to be close.  We are no different than other sisters in the sense that we had your typical fights...over clothes, taking too longer in the shared bathroom getting ready, but when it came right down too it...we always had each others back....and still do.  :)  Her and her family are planning on coming for a visit in a couple months & planning on staying with my husband and I.  It will be nice to get my baby fix from being around my nephew & niece.  :)  I wanted to send a quick little note to her to tell her how excited I am to see her & the family.

Over at My Craft Spot, the challenge is 'Make it Pop!' - use dimensionals to make some part of your card really stand out, so I am going to also submit this card as well.  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Baby Girl

The inside of the card - the middle has an opening to hold a gift card
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!  Can not believe that Sunday is tomorrow!!   This weekend has flown by too quickly but I was able to get several scrapbooking projects completed today, so it was a very productive day!! :)

The project that I have to share today is a card that I made for a friend of mine that just had a baby....this is the 4th person that I know that has had a baby in the last month....I guess it is in the water right now.  :)  She recently moved to North Carolina so I wanted to send a gift card instead of an actual gift, since I don't know what all she has received and still needs.  I learned how to make this 'gift card holder' from Heather, where you create an overlay that you slice a slit the size of a gift card in the middle.  It is such an awesome way to hold the gift card vs. having the gift card just laying inside.  The pictures have a bit of a shadow and are a little dark....sorry!! Should have turned on a lamp....whoops! :(  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Recipe for this project:

#104 - Out Like a Lamb - Make a project using a gentle animal.... lamb, kitten, puppy, ect.....

On September 11, 2003, I drove almost 2 hours to pick up my girlie-girl at a yorkie breeder.  The minute I picked Shelbi up, she has had our hearts & both of us wrapped around her paw as well.  Over the last couple years, I keep saying that I need to take all the pictures & make a 'baby book'.  I know....I am one of 'those' people.... :)

The project that I made & submitted for the challenge is the title page that I made to start our 'baby book'.  The photo is the first picture I had taken of her, which is my favorite, I was holding her & she was so tiny she fit in the palm of one hand.  The heart name tage that I tied around the picture with the pink bow is her first 'piece of jewerly'. :)  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Yappy Birthday

Hope you all had a great weekend!  My weekend was a great finish to a great birthday week, after being spoiled by my family & friends...I was able to spend Saturday evening scrapbooking/crafting with one of my best friends.  This is the first time I was able to actually scrapbook this enitre week though, since my gift to myself was catching a horrible cold that caused me to miss 3 days of work & even spend my birthday evening in bed. :(  So needless to say....I was not only excited to get out of the house but to also be able to hang out with the bestie while working on some projects.

One of the projects I was able to make was this birthday card for another friend of ours who scrapbooks with us off and on & who's husband I used to work with.  She loves her doggies as much as I do....s much that we treat our animals like they are our kiddos....we dress them up....which is always nice to know that you are not the only one.  :)

This is my baby.....Shelbi.  She loves dress up time with Mommy. :)

I have never posted a picture of my kiddo, and with this post being a card of a doggie for another fellow dog lover, I decided I would. This is Shelbi dressed up in her Halloween costume, which happens to be one of my favorite picture's of her. :)  Thanks for stopping by & taking a peek!!

Hope your birthday's a blast!

The project that I have to share is a tri-fold card that I made for my sister for her birthday.  Being a Science teacher, she loves space so much that she worked for NASA, teaching their space program for several years.  As kids, I remember her always reading about space, talking about space & watching any movie she could get her hands on about space.  So when I saw these on the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge, I knew I had to use them on a card for her. Thanks for visiting my blog & checking this project out!

"Thank Zoo"

The project I have to share is a Thank You card that I created to send to my sister & her family for allowing us to crash at their place while we were in Phoenix for a vacation.
While we were there, we visited the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium for the afternoon & had a really good time feeding the Giraffe's and observing the rest of the animals with my nephew. I have not been to a zoo for quite some time and have to admit that I don't know who had a better time; my nephew, my husband or myself.

I was excited to make this card, which is a tri-fold card, which I have wanted to make one for awhile after seeing some cute ones on other blogs, so I knew I wanted to create one for the Zoo Thank You card.
The top of the card is the front Zoo Gate, which flips up when opening, and then the actual Zoo scene opens up from the side, to allow me to write inside the card on both sides.

Recipe for this project:
- Momma Giraffe from Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge cut at 4.5
- Baby Giraffe from Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge cut at 2.5
- Gate from Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge cut at 4
